Se anunciaron las nominaciones de la 21ª edición de los Satellite Awards, los galardones concedidos anualmente por la Academia Internacional de la Prensa. Este año el musical La La Land (Foto) de Damien Chazelle lidera las candidaturas en 13 rubros, incluyendo Mejor Película y Mejor Dirección, y se perfila como la gran favorita de esta temporada de premios. Le sigue Hacksaw Ridge, lo nuevo de Mel Gibson como director, con 9 nominaciones; Moonlight de Barry Jenkins y Manchester by The Sea de Kenneth Lonergan obtuvieron 7 candidaturas cada una, mientras que Hidden Figures de Theodore Melfi recibió 6 nominaciones. Entre los films nominados a Mejor Película Extranjera se encuentra The Happiest Day in the Life of Olli Maki (Finlandia), Toni Erdmann (Alemania), Julieta (España), A Man Called Ove (Suecia), The Salesman (Irán), The Ardennes (Bélgica), Ma’ Rosa (Filipinas), The Handmaiden (Corea del Sur), Paradise (Rusia) y Elle (Francia).
En el día de ayer se conocieron las nominaciones de la 21ª edición de los Satellite Awards, los galardones que son concedidos anualmente por la Academia Internacional de la Prensa, fundada por antiguos miembros de la Asociación de Prensa Extranjera en Hollywood. Este año La La Land, el musical dirigido por Damien Chazelle, lidera las nominaciones en 13 categorías, incluyendo Mejor Película y Mejor Dirección, y se perfila como una de las favoritas de esta temporada de premios. Le sigue Hacksaw Ridge, la nueva pelicula de Mel Gibson como director, con 9 nominaciones; mientras que Moonlight de Barry Jenkins y Manchester by The Sea de Kenneth Lonergan obtuvieron 7 candidaturas respectivamente. Por su parte el film Hidden Figures, de Theodore Melfi, recibió 6 nominaciones.
El galardón a Mejor Actor Protagónico se los disputará Casey Affleck por su interpretación en Manchester by the Sea, Ryan Gosling por La La Land, Joseph Gordon-Levitt por Snowden, Viggo Mortensen por su labor en Captain Fantastic, Joel Edgerton por Loving, Andrew Garfield por Hacksaw Ridge, Tom Hanks por Sully, y Denzel Washington por su actuación en Fences. En el apartado femenino las actrices que competirán por el premio son: Annette Bening (20th Century Woman), Emma Stone (La La Land), Natalie Portman (Jackie), Ruth Negga (Loving), Taraji P. Henson (Hidden Figures), Meryl Streep (Florence Foster Jenkins), Isabelle Huppert (Elle) y Amy Adams (Animales Nocturnos).
