Se dio a conocer la lista de nominados a los Globos de Oro 2021. La 79a edición de los premios que entrega la Asociación de la Prensa Extranjera de Hollywood a lo mejor del cine y la televisión estadounidense e internacional se llevará a cabo el 9 de enero de 2022. Belfast, de Kenneth Branagh, y El poder del perro, de la neozelandesa Jane Campion, encabezan el pelotón con siete nominaciones cada una. Otros títulos con aspiraciones son West Side Story, de Spielberg; Duna, de Denis Villeneuve; CODA de Sian Heder y Rey Richard: una familia ganadora, la biopic estelarizada por Will Smith en la que encarna al padre de Venus y Serena Williams. Los españoles tienen sus candidatos con Javier Bardem, Pedro Almodóvar y el compositor Alberto Iglesias que han sido nominados en las categorías de mejor actor principal, mejor película de habla no inglesa y mejor banda sonora original, las dos últimas por Madres Paralelas. La nominación de Bardem, por su parte, corresponde al filme de Aaron Sorkin Being the Ricardos.
